Prof Dr Caroline Wiertz is a Professor of Marketing and the Head of the Marketing Group at Cass Business School, City, University of London. Her main research interests lie in the areas of consumer research and new media marketing. In particular, she is interested in how social media change marketing practices, such as product launch strategies, branding and advertising. She also studies how digital consumption affects consumer practices. She has published extensively in leading academic journals, and won a number of international research awards.
Caroline is passionate about the tech start-up world and also serves as Cass Business School’s Associate Dean for Entrepreneurship. She is the co-founder of City Unrulyversity, a pop-up university in the heart of London’s Tech City that delivers free education to early-stage tech entrepreneurs. In her free time, Caroline acts as a Trustee of the St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity and helps run its annual BBC Radio 4 Christmas Appeal, which raises money for the homeless in London and people in need across the UK.
